Counting Flowers On The Wall

This is the second painting of my garden ladies series. A series inspired by my mom and her gardening, then my own gardening journey…now my daughter begins. Being the creator of a garden is a sort of magic, that parallels woman hood. We create so many environments by being a women, motherhood, a home, a work place… in each of these environments we as women create ways to blossom. Garden ladies …show how the creating of a garden brings peace and joy and comfort and beauty…the same as our other jobs of being a woman.

Flowers stand for growing, blooming, planting seeds for the future. Flowers are about cultivating hope, and faith, things that we don’t see and waiting for beauty.    

I believe beauty always soothes. Creating beauty does twice the job…gives the artist peace and fulfillment and brings beauty to another.

Counting Flowers on the Wall is a tongue in cheek name . Referencing a Statlers brothers song about being a bit crazy. Gardening helps calm my mind and gentle my heart…takes the crazy out of my life. Counting flowers on the wall, that don’t bother me at all.

Thus painting measures 36x48 inches. It is mixed media painting created on gallery wrap canvas. The sides are painted and it is ready to hang. You can also have it framed.
